Will there be TAs in the lab during the student holiday on Oct 9?

ANSWER: The lab will be staffed October 9th but not October 8th.

Look at the lab hours, it looks as if we will have to complete and check off the lab very early, before 9pm on Thursday. Also, it looks like if we decide to work on the lab at night, there will not be anyone there to help. Is this fair to still have to check-off date be this Thursday? I, for instance, have class from 7-10pm on Tuesdays and an afternoon class on Wednesday. When am I expected to get help on the lab?

ANSWER: The lab this week is staffed 1-8 on Monday, 3-12 on Tuesday, 3-10 on Wednesday, and 2-10 on Thursday. You are welcome to come in for help before or after your 7-10 class on Tuesday, any of the 7 hours on Wednesday, or any of 8 hours on Thursday. You are also welcome to email the staff with questions about the lab. We have staffed the lab for 31 hours this week and Lab #8 has been posted over a month ago so you should have sufficient time to complete and checkoff the assignment. We do recommend, however, that you begin the assignment before Thursday. While we understand some students like to work on the lab late at night, in the past the majority of students have prefered lab hours during the day.

Will we find out our grades on Quiz 5 before the Design Project is due, so that we know how many points we may need to attain a desired grade?

What is the average/std dev of quiz #5. I think this year's quiz #4,#5 had low average scores.

Is 14.1 the stddev for Quiz 5? Or is that a typo and it should be 1.41 or something?
